The Chevy hybrid car on the market is the Tahoe, an SUV.
The 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid seats up to nine adult passengers, available in both the 2 wheel drive model and the 4 wheel drive model. The 2WD gets an estimated mpg of 21 in the city and 22 on the highway, while the 4WD gets 20 mpg in the city adn 20 on the highway.
The suggested MSRP is between $50,490 and $53,295.
Another Chevy hybrid is the more compact Concept Chevy Volt, expected to be available in 2010. The Volt is a plug in, which means you can recharge the battery overnight in your garage with a regular household outlet. It'll run about forty miles on this single charge.
Additional power is then provided as needed from one of it's other fuels, either gasoline, E85 or biodiesel. This will, in turn, recharge the battery pack.
The Chevy Volt is a sedan which can seat four to five passengers. Depending on whether you are driving on a long trip or short hauls, it can get 50-150 equivalent miles per gallon of gas.
The 2008 Chevy Malibu hybrid is available in a limited supply beginning spring of 2008. It has a 4 speed automatic transmission and a ECOTEC 2.4L DOHC four-cylinder Hybrid engine.
