Typically, the hybrid car price is several thousand dollars more than the gasoline only versions of the same model.

When considering the total cost of hybrid cars, you must factor in the gas you'll save, any possible tax credits or rebates the manufacturer may offer, and possibly battery replacement costs far down the road (if you keep the car 8 years or longer).

Some of the higher end models include a lot of fancy extras as s tandard features, which can also account for the stiffer prices.
