Tax Credit For Hybrid Car Models


Listed here is each tax credit for hybrid car models available. This information is current as of October 2007, but check www.irs.gov for the most recent updates.

Once a particular manufacturer has sold 60,000 hybrid cars, the credit is phased out over the next four quarters, so buying sooner gives you a better chance of receiving the full credit.

TOYOTA

For any Toyota hybrid car bought after October 1, 2007, no more tax credit is available.

HONDA

The Honda Accord Hybrid of 2006-07 gets $1300. The Navi Model of the Accord without updated calibration gets $650.

The Honda Civic Hybrid CVT 2006-08 gets $2100, while the Honda Insight 2006 gets $1450.

LEXUS

Tax credits for Lexus hybrids have also been totally phased out as of October 1, 2007.

CHEVROLET

The Chevy Malibu Hybrid 2008 qualifies for a $1300 tax credit.

The Chevrolet Silverado 2006-07 2WD Hybrid Pickup Truck 2WD has a $250 tax credit, while the 4WD qualifies for $650.

SATURN

The Saturn Aura Hybrid 2007-08 also qualifies for a $1300 tax credit.

The Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid 2007 has a $650 credit.

FORD

The Ford Escape 2WD Hybrid 2008 carries a hefty $3,000 tax credit, while the 2WD 2005-07 models have $2,600.

The Ford Escape 4WD Hybrid 2008 qualify for $2,200, while the 2005-07 models have a $1,950 credit.

MERCURY

The Mercury Mariner 4WD Hybrid 2006-07 allows a $1950 tax credit, while the 2008 model allows $2,200.

The Mercury Mariner 2WD Hybrid 2008 gives a credit of $3,000.

GMC

The GMC Sierra 2WD Hybrid Pickup Truck 2006-07 has a $250 credit.

The GMC Sierra 4WD Hybrid Pickup Truck 2006-07 has a $650 credit.

MAZDA

The Mazda Tribute 2WD Hybrid 2008 has a tax credit of $3,000.

The Mazda Tribute 4WD Hybrid 2008 has a $2,200 tax credit.

NISSAN

The Nissan Altima Hybrid 2007 has a tax credit of $2,350.
